Man Charged With Second Violation of Sex Offender Registry Act

Auroran Justino Bazan was convicted in 2003 of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 10-year-old victim, and again last year of violating the Sex Offender Registry Act.

An Aurora man was charged this week with his second violation of the Illinois Sex Offender Registry Act, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department.

Justino Bazan, 43, of the 0-99 block of Gastville Road in Aurora, was convicted in 2003 of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. The incident occurred in 2002, according to court records, when Bazan was 34 and the victim was 10 years old. He is listed as a sexual predator.

As a consequence of his conviction, Bazan must register as a sex offender. Bazan pleaded guilty in December of last year of violating the Sex Offender Registry Act, according to court records. He was ordered by a Kane County judge to register every 90 days, and inform authorities of any change in employment within three days, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputy Craig French.

French said Saturday that an investigation revealed Bazan violated both of those orders—he failed to register within 90 days, and did not register a new employment situation within three days. He was charged with two counts of violating the Illinois Sex Offender Registry Act, a class 2 felony, French said.

Bazan was taken to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville, and his bond was set at $30,000, French said.
