KenCom to Handle Montgomery PD Emergency Dispatch Services

The following is a Montgomery Police Department news release:

The Village of Montgomery Police Department will be dispatched by the KenCom Public Safety Dispatch center for emergency dispatch services. The switch over date is Oct. 29, 2013.  Area residents are reminded that not much will change for response protocol.

Although 911 calls will be sent to the KenCom dispatch center (located in Yorkville) residents should not change how they call for an emergency responder.

“The most important thing we want to emphasize is that you still call 911 in an emergency,” Montgomery Police Chief Daniel Meyers said. “Most of the changes will occur from an administrative standpoint.”

The non-emergency phone number for the police department will remain 630-897-8707.  You will receive a voice prompt which will guide you through a series of options.  You will be able to transfer to a desired department, leave a voicemail, or speak with Administration between the hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A telephone located in the lobby is for the public to use to connect to KenCom Dispatch Center after hours and on the weekends.
