Kane County Holds Groundbreaking for Shooting Range, Training Facility
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of October, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
Kane County officials broke ground Friday on a 5,700-square-foot police training facility that will house six shooting lanes and is meant to handle various training scenarios, according to the Aurora Beacon News.
The $2 million facility will be located on the same campus as the Kane County Judicial Center and Kane County Sheriff’s Office in St. Charles Township, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
The new facility will be a welcome addition for Kane County Sheriff's Office employees who have been training at the St. Charles' outdoor range since its Fabyan Parkway facility became contaminated by mold and lead from flooding, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
