Drivers Licenses Reported Stolen in Separate Burglaries: Police

Monday, Oct. 7

Retail theft

A juvenile, 13, from Montgomery, was arrested at 5:55 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Douglas by police after store employees observed the juvenile conceal an air soft gun and leave the store without paying, said Montgomery police.

No valid driver’s license

Ann Yanez-Meja, 31, of the 900 block of Pearl St. Aurora, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. at Douglas and Seasons Ridge Boulevard for No Valid Driver’s License and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, after the vehicle she was driving struck another vehicle’s rear bumper.  There were no injuries reported, said Montgomery police.

Sunday, Oct. 6

Counterfeit currency

Merchant reported someone paid for food with a counterfeit $50.00 bill in the 2000 block of Orchard Road.

Saturday, Oct. 5

DUI

Griselda Gonzalez, 38, of the 800 block of County Line Road Aurora was arrested at 1:45 a.m. at Lincoln and Sherman Avenue for DUI after police stopped her vehicle for not having a rear registration plate light, said Montgomery police.

Criminal damage to vehicle

Victim stated their 2005 Honda Odyssey, received scratches to the driver’s side of the vehicle and the rear taillight while it was parked in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Orchard Road.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Victim stated someone entered their unlocked Ford Focus and stole an Illinois Driver’s License, said Montgomery police.

Friday, Oct. 4

Recovered stolen property

Victim stated they purchased an IPhone 5 on Craig’s List for $320.  When they tried to activate the phone it was reported stolen and couldn’t be activated.  The phone was confiscated and placed into evidence where it will be returned to the owner.  Residents are warned cell phones purchased by unauthorized agents may be stolen and cannot be activated and will be considered stolen property.

Residential burglary

Resident reported between Sept. 23 and Sept. 25 someone entered their unlocked residence in the 1700 block of Fox Meade and stole a driver’s license and a credit card, said Montgomery police.
