Auto Show Burnouts Prompt Call to Sheriff

Reports from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office; May 26 - June 1.

Saturday, June 1

DUI, unlawful consumption, possession of alcohol
Dakota Ewald Malert, 20, of the 400 block of East Abe Street, Plano; Travis Antone Schmid, 20, of the 0-99 block of South Linden Drive, Plano; Ian Basil Johnson, 20, of the 2000 block of Bittersweet Drive, Plano; Tyler James Debolt, 20, of the 500 block of West Abe Street, Plano; and Tyler Charles Vacca, 19, of the 3400 block of Eileen Street, Plano, were all arrested at 2:15 a.m. at Route 47 and Walker Road,  said the Sheriff's office. Deputies received a report of disorderly conduct in the 6800 block of Chicago Road, Yorkville and found the suspects had left the scene and were driving intoxicated. Deputies found the vehicle and Malert, Schmid, Johnson, Debolt and Vacca were all found intoxicated and charged with the unlawful consumption and possession of alcohol. The driver, Malert, was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Criminal damage to property
Sheriff's deputies took a report for criminal damage to property that occurred at 4:18 p.m. at Lyon Farms, 7900 block of Route 71. The farm hosted a car show on their property and an operator of a vintage vehicle was asked to stop doing burnouts after a volunteer observed the first burnt out. The driver proceeded to do two more, damaging about 348 feet of grass. No charges are being pressed at this time. 

In state warrant
William James Connerty, 52, of the 2300 block of Overlook Court, Naperville, was arrested at 4:19 p.m. at Fernwood Road and Hunter Drive, Oswego, and charged with a warrant out of DuPage County for failure to appear for driving on a suspended license and for driving on a suspended license, said the Sheriff's office. He was also cited for disobeying a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 

Theft
Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported theft that occurred between March 1 and April 30 at Oswego Motors. A dealership license plate valued at $10 was stolen.

Possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal damage to property
Allison M. Sautter, 20, of the 0-99 block of Saugatuck, Montgomery,  was arrested at 9:30 p.m. at her residence and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal damage to property, said the Sheriff's office. Deputies went to the residence in reference to a domestic dispute and found that Sautter had broke a family member's cell phone and left the residence prior to the deputies' arrival. They located her in the 60 block of Marnel Road and she was found with drug paraphernalia. 

Possession of drug paraphernalia, cannabis
Christopher T. Sutherland, 23, of the 0-99 block of Somerset Road, Montgomery, was arrested at 9:20 p.m. at Circle Drive East and Birchwood Court and charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia and cannabis, said the Sheriff's office. He was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and loud exhaust.

Unlawful possession of cannabis, drug paraphernalia
Justin Robert Baylis, 28, of the 0-99 block of DeKalb Street, Somonauk, was arrested at 5:26 p.m. at Caton Farm Road and Ashely Road in Kendall County and charged with possession of over 100 grams of cannabis and drug paraphernalia after a deputy smelled a strong odor of fresh cannabis from the vehicle, said the Sheriff's office. He was also cited for speeding.

Warrant
Thomas K. Hogan, 58, of the 8000 block of Van Emmon Road, Yorkville, was arrested at 9:30 p.m at his residence and charged with a warrant out of the Chicago Police Department for a DUI charge after deputies had contact with Hogan while investigating a domestic violence incident, said the Sheriff's office.

Retail theft
Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported retail theft that occurred at 11:31 a.m. at the Oswego Food Mart, 100 Light Road. A subject entered the store and removed a stack of plastic containers containing scratch off Lottery tickets and then fled the store.

Warrant
David Michael Bauza, 44, of the 0-99 block of East Lexington Circle, Yorkville, was arrested at 8:47 a.m. in the 400 block of Bobcat Court, Oswego, and charged with a warrant out of Kane County for fraud for a bad check, said the Sheriff's office.

Criminal trespass to property
Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported criminal trespass to property that occurred at 8 a.m. in the 0-99 block of Surrey Road. The victim said they wanted the Sheriff's office to contact the individual that had been on their property and tell the individual that she was not welcome.

Harassment
Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported harassment that had been occurring between May 14 and May 28. The victim reported receiving harassing text messages including a threatening message to harm him. The victim wanted the situation documented.

Warrant
  • Alfonzo Terrell Alexander, 38, of the 1600 block of North Lotus, Chicago, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. in the 100 block of Kendall Point Drive, Oswego, and charged with an in state warrant for obstructing a court order after deputies responded for a civil process paperwork service, said the Sheriff's office.
  • Jacob Terrell Browning, 22, of the 100-200 block of Boulder Hill Pass, Montgomery, was arrested at 12:06 a.m. at Scarsdale Road and Curtmar Court, Montgomery, and charged with a warrant out of Aurora for possession of cannabis, said the Sheriff's office.

Theft
Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported theft that occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at the Sunshine Motel. The victim reported several items taken from their room including $129 in cash, a bag of tobacco, a cigarette rolling machine and a shirt.

No valid driver's license
A male juvenile, 17, was arrested at 12:57 a.m. at Cannonball Trail and Alice Avenue, Bristol, and charged for driving without a valid driver's license after he was stopped for an equipment violation, said the Sheriff's office.

Criminal damage to property
Sheriff's deputies took a report for criminal damage to property that occurred at 2:52 p.m. at Light Road and West Anchor Road, Oswego in a road rage incident. The victim reported that the subject yelled obscenities and then threw an unknown object at his car, causing a dent. The damage is approximately $100.

Monday, May 27


Domestic battery
Victor Torres, 26, of the 1500 block of Auburn Avenue, Naperville, was arrested at 6:40 a.m. in the 0-99 block of Bereman Road, Montgomery, and charged with domestic battery after allegedly striking an ex-girlfriend with a beer bottle, said the Sheriff's office.

Burglary to motor vehicle
Sheriff's deputies are investigating a reported burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. in the 0-100 block of Codorus Road, Oswego. The victim left his vehicle unlocked on the roadway and someone reportedly entered it and stole an iPod Nano.
