Another Arson Report at Fox Chase: Oswego Police

Four arson fires have been reported this month alone at the Fox Chase Drive school.

Police are asking community members who have information to come forward after another suspected arson at Fox Chase Elementary School.

According to police reports, the most recent incident was reported at 12:20 a.m. at the school, 260 Fox Chase Drive.

No one was hurt, but the incident is the fourth suspicious fire at the school in recent weeks.

On May 24, police responded to an early morning fire in a port-a-potty at the campus. In two previous incidents earlier this month, fires were set in a garbage can at the school playground.

Oswego Capt. Jeff Burgner said the first three incidents happened between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. on either a Friday or Saturday, while the May 29 incident was a Wednesday at around 12:30 a.m.

"We are doing extra patrols in the area and we are taking this seriously," Burgner said, noting that arson is a felony crime.

Anyone with information on the case — or any similar incidents — is asked to call the Oswego Police Department at 630-551-7300.
