I have had the pleasure of knowing Dwight Baird for many years, both in a personal and professional setting. I am very impressed with his law enforcement education, his hands on growth from the bottom up and his vision to lead Oswego Police Department long term.

Dwight has built the OPD into an accredited department and has recently been name the 2014 Police Chief of the Year from the Illinois State Crime Commission. What should this mean to you? To me it means fewer mistakes, higher professional standards, and less likelihood of error. It is this type of leadership that will bring the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office into the 20th Century.

I encourage voters to look at what Dwight has done in Oswego and realize where he can take us in the County. Please stand with me and vote for Dwight Baird on March 18th!

Some have said that should Mr. Baird get elected, the atmosphere of the Sheriff's Department would return to the days when the Chief Deputy Tichava was running things (remember the sexual harassment lawsuit paid by the county). Ah the way things change, the way they stay the same.

Do you remember all of those harassment lawsuits that have happened at Oswego Police Department....No, you don't....Hmmm maybe that's because there haven't been any. But I do recall a harassment lawsuit involving Mr. Eaves that involved verbal abuse because of the persons skin color. I will truly be ashamed if one day someone asks me "who is your Sheriff" and I have to respond back with "Mr. Eaves he's a Racist". Here is the docket number to look up 1:01-cv-07111 Smith v. Cty of Plano, et al Just for the heads up the case was also settled, which typically indicates wrong doing!
