Obituary: In Loving Memory of Donn P. Morrissette

Donn served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Oswego High School in 1976.

Donn P Morrissette, age 55, of Oswego, IL died suddenly on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at his residence. 

He was born July 21, 1957 in Cloquet, MN.     

Donn served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He attended schools within Oswego and graduated in the Class of 1976 of Oswego Community High School. He went on to obtain a Masters Degree in teaching. 

In his spare time he devoted spare hours in tutoring others in language arts, math and GED subject material at Waubonsee Community College and at the local homeless shelter while working at Stateville Correctional Center.     

Donn is survived by his wife Mary E nee Baert, two daughters Shaunna (Adam) Kruger of Streator, IL, Rachel Chandler of Oswego, IL, two sons Shawn Morrissette of Streator, IL, Adam (Emily) Morrissette of NE; seven grandchildren; his mother Madonna Morrissette of Ottawa, IL, his father Robert (Sharon) Morrissette of San Marcos, TX; three sisters Lynn (Keith) Morrissette of Plano, IL, Liby (Monte) Andrews of Pontiac, IL, Lety Morrissette of Trafalgar, IN; five brothers Dave (Mary) Morrissette, Dean (Dianne) Morrissette both of Aurora, IL, Dale (Lara) Morrissette of Montgomery, IL, Dirk (Solange) Morrissette of Rochelle, IL, Drew (Sue) Morrissette of Sandwich, IL; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Hugh and Elizabeth Mullen; paternal grandparents Edward and Stella Morrissette and a nephew Brandon Morrissette.     

Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 5:00 PM at the Dunn Family Funeral Home, 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL. 

Cremation will take place at American Crematory in Oswego, IL followed by interment of the cremains with military honors on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, 1:00 PM at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

Memorials may be directed to either the American Cancer Society or Paralyzed Veterans of America or St Labre Indian School in Donn’s memory. For additional information 630/554-8484.
