Harold L. White, 82, Taught at Waubonsee Community College for Over 30 Years

Harold L. White, age 82 years, of Montgomery, IL passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Alden of Waterford in Aurora, IL, with family by his side. He was born December 1, 1930 in Casey, IL, the son of the late Jesse E and Marie E nee Wilson. 

Harold was an instructor in the electronics and mathematic departments of Waubonsee Community College for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1997. He developed training programs for adjunct faculty, consulted for local businesses and industry, and was a published technical writer.  

Harold’s other interests included playing guitar, woodworking, photography, tennis, stained glass artistry, and spending time with his dog, Charlie.  

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Michael Marzec, as well as his other caregivers for their support.  

Harold is survived by his wife Dona nee Swanson, whom he married on October 10, 1985, and shared many happy memories; two daughters Patricia (John) Theis of FL; Elizabeth (Bryan) Heriaud of Yorkville, IL; a son Benjamin (Beth Hafenrichter) Porch of Oswego, IL; step daughter Maria (Michael) Greiner of North Aurora, IL; step son Michael (Katrina) Hansen of Aurora, IL; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother Donald (Iris) White of AZ. He was also preceded in death by a brother Ronald (Harriette) White. 

Visitation with family and friends will be at 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:30, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at the Fourth Street United Methodist Church, 441 South 4th St., Aurora, IL.  

Cremation took place followed by inurnment at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL.
