I opened my email to be greeted by email that Microsoft is going to do battle with Apple and Samsung, and that the battle grounds are to be held at Best Buy. Hmm, Best buy?
Okay the real story here is that Apple and Samsung have mini kiosks in these locations along with many others selling technologies like Tupperware, but now Microsoft is heading there in a larger way. Since the PC market has hit its all time low sell rate, Microsoft is feeling the squeeze by less license revenue and less OEM Windows being sold. So they have struck up the Battle call to show off everything Microsoft, heck even on Apple devices you’ll see office from MAC to IPhone now. So what is the big deal Greg you’re asking, and the retort is nothing for once. I think it’s a great idea for people to see all of what technology can do upfront before the purchase. Just think if we could do that with food items in a grocery --- I would never have purchased that Haggis just to taste OH MY YUCK!

Windows phone is where I live now and frankly “I’m loving it”. Yes like every phone it does calls and texting but being in closer sync with everything Microsoft on my desktop is wonderful. The app store is great and like many I test applications to see if I can find that “got to have it one”. Being a geek and science nerd I needed a well built Scientific Calculator like my HP 12 Series Calc with reverse polish notation (RPN). Well I’m still looking and frankly surprised that HP doesn’t make the application and sell it themselves. They make a great calculator why not make the software, oh well.
So keep looking for killer applications for your phones people and have a great summer! I sure wish it would stop raining so much but wow those tomato plants are looking good.
