Your Quick Guide to the Kendall County Fair

The Kendall County Fair entertainment includes Nashville musician DJ Miller and the band Back Country Roads.

The slogan for the Kendall County Fair Association is: Where old friends get together and new friends meet.

Whether you are an old friend to the 4-H competitions, deep fried deliciousness, or are eager to make their acquaintance, here are some details that will help you get there.

Back Country Roads, a band, will perform in the family area/beer garden from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, according to the fair website. Nashville musician DJ Miller will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday.

• The carnival will have a wristband special from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The general carnival hours are noon to 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

• American Racing Mowers will have lawn mower races from noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The truck and tractor pull will be at 6 p.m. Friday, and the demo derby will be at 2 p.m. Sunday.

• The 4-H King and Queen will be crowned at 4:45 p.m. Friday on the family stage.

• Food booths open daily at 10 a.m.

• The general admission fee gets you into all the entertainment as well, according to the fair website. Four-day passes are $20 per adult, $8 for children ages 5 to 13 and $12 for seniors ages 62 and older. Daily admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children and $4 for seniors. Children ages 5 and younger are free.

• The fair is open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the fair website.

• The sheriff's office during the fair. From Route 47, take Legion Road west to Highpoint Road and enter the fairgrounds off Highpoint Road.
