After Julianna Lampman, 8, found out some children wear wigs made from donated hair, in July she decided she would cut hers to help someone else.

After growing out her hair for several years, Julianna Lampman knew what her next step would be.

The 8-year-old headed to the salon and had her locks chopped off so that she could donate it to children who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatments.

Julianna's mother, Lisa Lampman, said her daughter had been against having her hair cut short until she saw pictures of children that had lost their hair.

"I follow several blogs and a few of them follow the stories of children who are dealing with a variety of cancers," Lisa Lampman said. "She began asking questions about cancer and why the children did not have hair."
