Photos: Memorial Day Ceremony at Riverside Cemetery

It was another sunny and warm Memorial Day, as hundreds gathered Monday morning at to remember those who gave their lives protecting this nation.

Montgomery's Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7452 has organized the remembrance for more years than most can remember. Under the guidance of Commander Vern Weber, VFW members presented colors, laid wreaths before the cemetery's massive war memorial, and fired off a 21-gun salute.

And as "Taps" played out across the field, veterans, their families and those there to honor them stood silently, hands on hearts, and remembered.

Afterward, the VFW opened its doors to the community for its annual Memorial Day luncheon.
