RAM Jam, or, How Much RAM is Enough?

Memory: what a computer thirsts for.

The biggest complaint I get daily is, "My computer is slow." The reason it‘s slow is that you don’t have enough RAM (memory) in the computer to perform the tasks you want.

I see all too frequently users leaving open applications in the task bar, ones that are not being used. These applications rob the memory from the application you need most (the one you are currently using) and that slows things down. So close those open applications not in use, don’t have four copies of Excel open when trying to write that novel.

One other thing: RAM is cheap. The more you have, the faster your computer will feel.
