Hot and Charged up!

Battery Care during extreme weather.

Man it’s hot and you may not have noticed but that cell battery just isn’t working as well. The charge isn’t lasting as long and it just seems to take longer to charge. Well you’re correct because heat and cold extremes are the batteries enemy similar to us.  So during the summer and winter months do the following:

Shade your Cell Phones from heat (Keep below 100).

During extreme cold keep the cell phone about 50 degrees (You body works great for this).

Another note on heat did you know you can melt a cell phone? Well if you leave it in direct sun the phone can and will melt the plastics (soften) them. A distorted plastic housing isn’t pretty but it can happen. The sun on a 90 degree day can turn a car into a 160+ degree oven so protect your electronics is the warning here folks.  One other note animals and children left in cars in this fashion are a BIG “NO-NO”.

So keep cool and you’ll extend the life of that charge and also prevent burnt fingers!

CAW (Cool Application of Week)

This week is battery related (also cell phone) and well I use on my DRIOD based phone ELVISION which watches my battery mV (millivolt) and battery temperature like a hawk. So look in the DRIOD store for this or other Widgets that will help extend your battery life. Apple users head to the iTunes store and pick up Battery Life Pro (all-in 1) to watch over you’re battery needs.

Next week I’m taking a week off from GEEK SPEAK so tune in two weeks from now “ Same Bat Channel and Same Bat time” to get your GEEK fix!
