Public Demo of Emergency Communications June 23-24

Despite the Internet, cell phones and modern communications, every year whole regions find themselves in the dark leaving people without the means to communicate. In these cases, the one consistent service that has never failed has been Amateur Radio, often called “ham” radio.

In the Aurora/Montgomery area, the Fox River Radio League in cooperation with the Kane County Amateur Radio Emergency Service will be demonstrating Ham Radio will join with thousands of other Amateur Radio operators showing their emergency capabilities the weekend of June 23-24 from 1 pm Sat. until 1 pm Sun. at Jericho Lake Park in Montgomery.

Information is also available on the Fox River Radio League website at http://www.frrl.org/fieldday
