Local Toastmasters Club to Host Guest Night

Mark your calendar!  You are invited to Guest Night at the Oswego Toastmasters club.  Toastmasters is an international organization with over 260,000 members in approximately 12,500 clubs.  The Oswego club serves the greater Fox Valley area including the communities of Oswego, Montgomery, Yorkville, Plano, Sandwich, and Aurora.  Most of the members are from these communities; however, everyone is welcome regardless of where they live.

The purpose of the organization is to improve communication and leadership abilities in a social, supportive environment.  Each meeting provides an opportunity to practice these skills by filling meeting roles, giving prepared or impromptu speeches, and taking on volunteer leadership projects.  Members learn by doing and proceed at their own pace.

The Oswego Toastmasters club has repeatedly earned the President’s Distinguished designation from Toastmasters International.  This means the club as a whole has met a certain number of goals on a yearly basis.  The club goals are based on members’ progress toward their individual goals in the communication and leadership tracks.  Many members are also active in leadership positions beyond the club level within the greater Toastmasters organization.

Our club can best be described as having fun while learning.  We keep the meetings relaxed and flexible to allow our members to gain confidence.  We encourage you to come see for yourself.  Our next Guest Night is Tuesday, August 16th at 7:00pm.  We meet at the Little White School Museum, 72 Polk Street, in downtown Oswego.  We are expecting a strong response, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early.   Additional information will be available and light refreshments will be provided after the meeting.

If you are unable to attend next week, guests are always welcome to visit our club.  Meetings begin promptly at 7:00pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month.  Please visit the club website for futher information:  www.oswegotoastmasters.org
