Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry 30th Anniversary Gala

Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry celebrates 30 years of service at Thanksgiving Gala

The Aurora AreaInterfaith Food Pantry proudly marks 30 years of service to the community this year.  To celebrate this milestone, the Pantry has planned a 30th Anniversary Thanksgiving Gala to be held on the evening of Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Piper’s Banquets in Aurora. Tickets are $75 a person; $750 for a table of ten.  The Gala will feature an elegant dinner and dancing, Pantry historic presentation and Gala program, and silent and live
auctions.

Founded in 1981, the Pantry is one of the longest standing social service agencies in the community.  Over the past three decades, the Pantry has helped thousands of individuals and families in need in the Aurora area by providing emergency food and nutritional assistance in a humanitarian and compassionate manner.  In 2010, the Pantry distributed 1,000,000 pounds of food to those who would otherwise have had to go hungry.  The Pantry currently provides food for more than 9,000 children and adults each month, with an average of 40 new families registering each week to receive assistance.
