Hello To All Of Montgomery From Elita Sohmer Clayman

Elita will write on being a senior, being a ballroom dancer from 1982-2001 and winning 58 trophies and medals for her competition days. She also will write about being a teen in the forties and how times have changed since then when her family got a TV for the first time. Oh how rich they felt. It was about 19 inches in size housed in a lovely wood console piece of furniture.

The whole family of four sat and watched it all together in the evening hours. When she was about 21, she won a TV set for some charity work she did. She gave it to her folks and they all watched it while eating dinner.

They watched at dinner a show called You Bet Your Life with a comedian named Groucho Marx. The neighbors all thought the Sohmers must have hit the lottery.

She writes on her ballroom dancing days and the awards she won and they are  living on specialty shelves she built in her kitchen. She loves dusting them and viewing them and remembers the happy days dancing in Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Miami Beach, Florida and Kansas City, Kansas. Also being a grandmother, mother-in-law, mom, wife and aunt. Also being a senior is high on her list and she loves to encourage and inspire all seniors to go out and dance and do anything else they desire that keeps them active and healthier.

She writes for a total of 30 Patches and so far  she has written 635 articles and thirty for Frederick News Post.

She is an active senior with bad knees and hopes to get back to her Sunday  ballroom dancing social dances. She makes her readers want to go out and dance and or do other activities too.

For 17 years she wrote a monthly column for Rene's website in Alabama.

Here goes the first of her columns for this Patch. Hello to all the folks here.
