Why go: The 10K race will be chip timed. All runners will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt, refreshments and participation ribbon. Athletes will be treated to walking pancakes after the run. Registration can be made through the Oswegoland Park District's Web site or through www.signmeup.com.
Cost: 10K Pre-Registered, $25; 10K Race Day, $35; 1-Mile, $15

Where: Oswego , 3066 Rt. 34, Oswego
Why go: The program helps nearly 2,000 Kendall County pets in need with pet food and supplies; helping pets stay with their familes and out of shleters. The program is urgent in need of cat food, dog food and monetary donations.
Cost: Your donations are appreciated.

Why go: Meet and greet and Q&A with GOP Congressman running against incumbent Randy Hultgren.
