Time to Get Rid of the Christmas Tree

Allied Waste will take fresh trees this week and next, at no extra charge, as long as they're at the curb, free of decorations, and not placed in a bag.

Having a fresh Christmas tree is great. It fills your home with a fresh scent, and it looks amazing all lit up, with ornaments hanging from the branches.

But it’s the beginning of January, and the presents have all been unwrapped, there are pine needles all over the floor, and the cat has broken several of those ornaments. It’s time to get rid of the tree.

If you’re worried about how to dispose of it, don’t be. Allied Waste has Montgomery residents covered. This week and next, they will collect fresh Christmas trees at no extra charge. Just bring the tree to the curb on your normal trash collection day, and say sayonara.

You’re going to need to take the lights and decorations off the tree first, and Allied asks that you not place it in a bag. But other than that, you’re good to go. It’s an after-Christmas miracle!
