Thousands Spend Hour Without Power Monday

ComEd reports a widespread outage that affected areas of Montgomery, Oswego, Yorkville, Aurora and Bristol Township - but only for an hour.

A failed circuit breaker left roughly 3,400 ComEd customers in Montgomery, Aurora, Oswego, Yorkville and Bristol Township without power Monday afternoon.

According to ComEd spokesman Bennie Currie, the failure affected five different power feeders, and occurred around 12:45 p.m. Within an hour, he said, all power was restored.

The outage affected most of downtown Montgomery, including George’s Restaurant and the offices of the Montgomery Economic Development Corporation.
