Snow Could Make Evening Commute Treacherous

The National Weather Service is predicting between four and seven inches of heavy snow, beginning this afternoon and continuing until tomorrow morning.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the mild weather, because snow is on its way.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that runs through 6 a.m. Friday. The rain we’re seeing now will change to a wet snow this evening, according to the NWS, and that snow could be very heavy and impact driving conditions.

We’re looking at four to seven inches of accumulation, according to the advisory. And since the snow is predicted to start in the early evening, those commuting home might be in for a rough ride. The snow is likely to make the roads slippery, and impact visibility, the NWS says.

We’ll also see strong winds this evening and overnight. Due to the heaviness of the snow, the National Weather Service suggests that those with health issues should use caution while shoveling.

The snow should stop falling by late Friday morning, according to the advisory, but further accumulations are possible through next Wednesday.
