No Damage Reported After Tuesday Night Storm

No calls for help came in to the Montgomery Police Department, the Oswego Fire Department or the Montgomery and Countryside Fire Protection District after a severe storm made its way through the village.

A severe storm ripped through Montgomery and the surrounding area Tuesday night, complete with a tornado warning and sightings of funnel clouds over Oswego. But by all accounts Tuesday night, no damage was reported.

The Montgomery Police Department, the Oswego Fire Protection District and the Montgomery and Countryside Fire Protection District all reported no calls for emergency service or other issues with homes or roadways by 10:30 p.m., after the storm had abated. The National Weather Service’s tornado warning expired at 9 p.m.

ComEd’s outage map showed fewer than 500 customers in the Aurora area (which includes Montgomery, Oswego and Yorkville) without power as of 10 p.m.

Kendall County Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Craig French said there were no official tornado sightings, but there were unofficial reports throughout the county.
