New Oswego Panera Opening Date Pushed Back

The new restaurant will have a drive-thru, but is not quite ready to open yet.

Panera Bread is getting ready to move into a new location in Oswego, but the opening date has been pushed back.

The restaurant, currently located in the Oswego Commons shopping center in the 2900 block of Route 34, is getting ready to move into a new site at at Gerry Centennial Plaza in the 1400 block of Douglas Road.

Oswego Economic Development Director Vijay Gadde said the new eatery was scheduled to open on May 7, but has been delayed. He said reps from Panera are not yet sure when the new location will open.

The new location is under construction and will give diners the option of a drive-thru. The 11,000-square-foot building will have two other retail units.

Panera has operated from the Oswego Commons Shopping Center location since 2002.
