Montgomery Sam's Club Breaks Ground, Plans to Open Next Spring
Hiring for Sam's Club expected to begin later this year.
If you've driven down Route 34 you've likely seen the construction on the corner of Route 30.
That's the new Sam's Club, that plans to open in the spring of 2014.
They broke ground in late August and have been steadily building the 136,000 square feet store, located at 1050 Ogden Ave., Montgomery.
The location will have a pharmacy, optical department, gas station and photo center.
“We are thrilled that Sam’s Club has chosen to build in the Inland Ogden Hill Center of the Village of Montgomery,” said Montgomery Village President Matt Brolley. “It is our pleasure to be the home of the first Sam’s Club in Kendall County, and we are looking forward to the creation of many new jobs."
Sam's Club will bring about 175 new jobs to the area and hiring is expected to start later this year.
Sam’s Club currently operates 29 clubs in Illinois and Walmart and Sam’s Club currently employ more than 50,000 associates in Illinois.
