The general public is welcome to attend the Aurora Navy League Council 247 meeting.
A reception will be followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Dinner will include a choice of three entrees (fish, chicken or beef), soup or salad, dinner rolls, vegetables, desserts and a non-alcoholic drink.
After dinner, Colonel John Gessner will speak on "Mission to Afghanistan."

The after dinner speaker will be Colonel John Gessner, USA (Ret.) who will speak on "Mission to Afghanistan."
Colonel Gessner's military awards include two Bronze Star medals for service in Afghanistan and Iraq. He retired in 2010 with 32 years of federal service.
