Beer Rally Relocates to Aurora

The Chicago Beer Rally was originally slated to be held at the new Romeoville Athletic and Events Center.

Just days before the first-ever Chicago Beer Rally, organizers have announced that the Saturday, May 3 event has been rescheduled.

The craft beer event was originally scheduled to take place at the new Romeoville Athletic and Events Center, 55 Phelps Ave. Last weekend, the event center hosted the Nike Showdown basketball tournament, bringing hundreds of teams to town.

On Tuesday, organizers announced that the beer rally has been moved to Hopvine Brewery, 4030 Fox Valley Center Dr. in Aurora.

Chicago Beer Rally Marketing and Social Media Manager Zoe Barker said the last-minute switch was due to "unforeseen circumstances."

"It's unfortunate that we had to move it at the last minute," Barker said, but added that organizers were lucky that Hopvine was able to take on the event.

She said BrewFest Partners, which is putting on the beer rally, is offering four additional sampling tokens to attendees who purchased their tickets before the venue change was announced. Refunds will also be given through ticket vendor Extremetix to those who no longer wish to attend the event, she said.

The Village of Romeoville also sent out an email announcing the change Tuesday afternoon, adding, "Please note that this event was not sponsored by the Village of Romeoville and inquiries regarding the relocation should be directed to BrewFest Partners by clicking here."
