Aurora University Theatre Department to Stage "Blithe Spirit"

The Aurora University Theatre Department will stage Blithe Spirit, Noel Coward's classic comedy in Perry Theatre in the Aurora Foundation Center.

Focusing on socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites eccentric medium Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a seance to gather material for his next book, the play shows how his plan backfires. Condomine is haunted by the ghost of his annoying first wife Elvira, who attempts to disrupt his current marriage.

The play was first seen in the West End of London in 1941. Its musical adaptation, High Spirit, debuted on Broadway in 1964.
