Wounded Warrior 5K Draws a Record Crowd

Around 1,400 people registered for Saturday's Operation Welcome You Home Wounded Warrior 5K Run/Walk, raising money to help the non-profit serve local wounded servicemen and women.

The May 24 event kicked off at Plainfield's Settlers' Park with an opening ceremony featuring the Romeoville High School ROTC, bagpiper Tammy Miceli and a performance of the National Anthem from singer Jo Ellyn Caulfield, as well as a greeting from Plainfield Mayor Mike Collins.

CBS investigative reporter Dave Savini served as emcee for the third annual event.
