When: 1 p.m.
Why go: Teens 12-16 will learn self-defense skills. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing!

When: 3:30 to 6 p.m.
Why go: Stonehill Dental will collect your leftover Halloween candy to send to the troops. For every pound you and your kids donate, they'll get a buck.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Where: Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora
When: 8 p.m.
Why go: It's Broadway in the 'burbs! The Paramount has received rave reviews for its Broadway series, and this is the second show.
Cost: $34.90-$46.90.

Saturday, Nov. 5


Where: Fourth Street United Methodist Church, 551 S. 4th St., Aurora
When: 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Why go: This sale will benefit Fourth Street Methodist’s women’s projects and church missions. Plus, yummy pancakes and sausage.
Cost: $4, plus whatever you buy.

When: 9 a.m. to noon
Why go: Check and make sure your kids' car seats are installed properly. About 90 percent are not.

When: 10 a.m.
Why go: Sweet treats and used goods for a good cause.
Cost: Free to enter

Where: Piper’s Banquets, 1295 Butterfield Road, Aurora
When: 5:30 p.m.
Why go: The food pantry has been serving the Aurora area for 30 years. In 2010, they distributed 1 million pounds of food, and they serve 9000 people a week. This event is a fundraiser for a very good cause.
Cost: $75, or $750 for a table of 10.

Sunday, Nov. 6


Where: , 100 S. Main St., Oswego
When: 12:30 p.m.
Why go: Blessings for your dog or cat will be offered by Pastor Phil Sheets from Good Shepherd United Methodist Church
Cost: Free

Why go: Kindergartners and first graders will read a book, discuss it and do an activity based on it.
