Weekend Grab Bag: Hometown Days and More

What fun are you going to pull out this weekend and beyond? Local events abound in the Patch lands of Montgomery, Oswego and Yorkville.

Friday, Sept. 4

Hometown Days Festival, , Yorkville
The Scoop: The 19th annual Hometown Days includes a carnival, music, magic, performances and more. Runs through Sunday. $2.

Open Mic and Jam Night, , 2745 Rt. 34, Oswego
The Scoop: Join the 4th Street Blues Band for open mic. Bring your axe, harp, horn or just your voice. All genres welcome.
Inside Info: Expect some good local blues musicians to jam out. Next to Rosati's Pizza.

Saturday, Sept. 3

Farmers' Market, , Yorkville
The Scoop: Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon through Oct. 29.
Inside Info: Offerings will include farm-grown vegetables, baked goods and fresh roasted coffee.

Annual Book Sale, , 902 Game Farm Rd., Yorkville
The Scoop: The 3rd annual book sale sponsored by the Friends of the Yorkville Public Library. Proceeds from the sale fund programs throughout the year. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free.
Inside Info: All donated books from children's to non-fiction that look practically brand new. No textbooks. 

Yorkville Jr. Women's Club Craft Show, , Yorkville
The Scoop: The 16th annual craft show will feature many vendors and concessions. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free.
