Weekend Grab Bag: Free Music, Hidden Treasures and Harry Potter

What fun are you going to pull out this weekend and beyond? Local events abound in the Patch lands of Montgomery, Oswego and Yorkville.

Friday, July 8

, Oswego Public Library, 1111 Reading Drive, Montgomery
The Scoop: The library will celebrate the release of the last Harry Potter movie with school-age children. Seven different activity stations will be set up for participants in the Montgomery Meeting Room. 1 to 3 p.m. Free.
Inside Info: The owls are gathering for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.

Music Under the Stars, Yorkville
The Scoop: Enjoy a warm summer evening listening to great music in Yorkville's Town Square. 7 to 9 p.m. Free.

Saturday, July 9

Farmers' Market, Town Square Park, Yorkville
The Scoop: Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon through October 29.
Inside Info: Offerings will include farm-grown vegetables, baked goods and fresh roasted coffee.

Louche Puce Market, Water Street Mall, Aurora
The Scoop: More than a dozen eclectic vendors take over tree-lined Water Street Mall in downtown Aurora to sell their vintage, collectible and antique wares. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free.
Inside Info: Water Street Mall is between Galena and Downer, next to City Hall. Street parking on Broadway and Downer, lot parking on Water Street off of Benton Street.

Family Fun Festival, 9054 State Route 34, Yorkville
The Scoop: 7th Annual Fundraiser to Support the Kendall County Comets Special Olympics. Outdoor games, activities, bounce houses face painting and more. 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Free.

Oswego Country Market, Downtown Main Street, Oswego
The Scoop: Every Sunday through September, this fresh-air market is full of locally grown produce, meat, eggs, fresh flowers, specialty food items and more. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Inside Info: Look for Tom's Organic Produce for farm-fresh summer treats.

Vignettes Garage Sale, 1996 Waverly Way, Montgomery
The Scoop: Phyllis Keller is cleaning out her garage full of her former store's goodies. 8:30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m.
Inside Info: Her store, Vignettes, located at 101 Commercial Dr. in Yorkville, closed this spring.
