Weekend Grab Bag: Broadway, Bluegrass and Yogi Bear

What fun are you going to pull out this weekend and beyond? Local events abound in the Patch lands of Montgomery, Oswego and Yorkville.

Friday, Sept. 16

My Fair Lady, Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena, Aurora
The Scoop: The Paramount's first in-house Broadway performance debuts. Directed by Jim Corti. 8 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 17

Farmers' Market, , Yorkville
The Scoop: Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon through Oct. 29.
Inside Info: Offerings will include farm-grown vegetables, baked goods and fresh-roasted coffee.

Annual Book Sale, , Montgomery Campus
The Scoop: It's time for the Friends of the Library's annual book sale. Both fiction and non-fiction books for youth and adults will be available to purchase. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free.

Free Fall Movies, Kendall 10, Oswego
The Scoop: Yogi Bear shows at 9 and 10 a.m.
Inside Info: Free fall movies on Saturdays and Sundays until November 6. Tickets are first come, first serve. Intermission with every show.

Heifer Hay Day, 5021 Wheeler Rd, Yorkville
The Scoop: Family fun at Au Sable Grove Presbyterian Church's Heifer Hay Day. Stick Pony rodeo, petting farm, hayrides, horse rides along with games, food, gift basket raffle, craft items and demonstrations by a bee keeper, therapy dog handler and a spinning wheel. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free admission. 
Inside Info: Tickets will be sold to participate in the events. All proceeds to benefit Heifer International.

Fiestas Patrias, North River Street Park, downtown Aurora
The Scoop: Fiestas Patrias is a three-day music festival that showcases a variety of international music acts, food vendors and a carnival. Noon to 10 p.m. Free. $2 per alcohol wristband.
Inside Info: Parade is Sunday at 10 a.m.

Sunday, Sept. 18

Bluegrass Jam on the Farm, Dickson-Murst Farm, Montgomery
The Scoop: Bluegrass music will fill the preserved old farmstead that sits right next to new housing developments. Great family fun with tractor rides, food, demonstrations and more. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free. 
Inside Info: It's the last day at the farm of the season. Grab a blanket and head down to the farm that the Conservation Foundation saved. 

Concerts in the Park, Hudson Crossing Park, Oswego
The Scoop: This free concert will feature TRiO, a band that plays music from the '60s and '70s. 12:30 p.m.
Inside Info: Attendees should bring blankets, lawn chairs, snacks and beverages.
