Video: Kids Summer Garage Sale in Boulder Hill

The Oswegoland Park District gave kids the chance to sell toys and other things they'd outgrown. These kids from Montgomery, Oswego and Plainfield took them up on it.

The Civic Center in Boulder Hill was the scene Friday afternoon of a unique event: a garage sale by kids, for kids.

The Oswegoland Park District organized the event, which allowed children ages 7-12 to sell old toys and other items for profit. Families from all over the Fox Valley took them up on it, selling books and action figures and toy cars to interested passersby.

Kids got to keep all the money they made, and many of them said they were saving it for bigger and better things. And those who bought the old toys seemed delighted with them—and with the free popcorn and lemonade the Park District provided.
