Montgomery Patch, week three!

This was a crazy one. Our goofy was posted on Monday, and it took off: more than 2,000 page views so far, and more than 600 recommendations on Facebook. Thanks to everyone who watched and commented and passed it around.

But there was plenty of actual news this week, too. Here’s a rundown of five items you may have missed:

1. A Wednesday in a traditionally peaceful Boulder Hill neighborhood has some neighbors shaken up. There were no injuries reported, and police are still searching for a black minivan.

2. A Montgomery man was seriously injured in a on Wednesday. He remains in good condition at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

3. West Aurora School District officials met with the Department of Housing and Urban Development on Wednesday to talk about Jericho Circle, a public housing complex slated for demolition. They determined that staffing levels at Nicholson Elementary School in Montgomery would , and plans will proceed as if the Jericho students will attend.

4. The long-awaited Orchard Road widening project, north of Route 30 and south of Jericho Road, may start as soon as June. But first, the village of Montgomery must . Trustees on Monday approved a $45,186 contract for engineering and design work on the project.

5. East Aurora’s Tomcats the boys basketball regional championships on Saturday, while West Aurora’s Blackhawks saw their season .
