We’re not even going to try to get around it this week: the big news was the election. We brought you other stories too, but the focus this week was on April 5 and its aftermath. Here’s what we posted this week, in case you missed it:

1. Voters sent to the Montgomery Village Board, and sent two board veterans packing. They also on school boards and park boards. We brought you results, but also an at the newbies, Stan Bond and Matt Brolley.

2. On the downside, voter turnout . With 13 percent participation, Kane County set a new record low.

3. A Boulder Hill man named Brian LeSure was to two children. He is also the brother of Theddias LeSure, accused of two June 2009 murders.

4. The Oswego School District into its hall of distinction, including former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.
