Snapshot: Eagles Spotted Along Fox River

Upload your photos of the eagles below!

Bald Eagles descended upon Oswego this Saturday.

Photographers spotted them on Route 25 just south of Boulder Hill Pass, sitting up in a tree above some lounging geese.

One reader on the Oswego Facebook page said she saw 12 of them along the road earlier in the morning.

If you take a shot of the eagles, feel free to upload it here.

My family and I pulled over off of 25 and spotted about 9 of them. It was great. My son didn't want to leave. They were catching fish and "falling" from overworked tree branches as more than one tried to gain occupancy. It is nice to see these large and beautiful birds of prey in such numbers.

There were thousands of geese and ducks. I know what a goose looks like. Friday I took that drive and stopped counting at 20. Saturday I decided to be more OCD about it. I live a half mile down from the Yorkville dam. In that stretch alone there were seven. Everyone sticks to Route 25, but if you follow other roads along the river you'll see many more. There are a lot of hawks around too and blue herons. And no, driving and counting birds is no big deal.

Friends are reporting seeing eagles all the way up to Elgin, but they are a bit jealous that there are so many of them down this way.

I remeber when I was a kid you would see a flock of Canadian Geese flying in formation heading south, not that common. Now they're a scourge. Try walking your dog through Hudson Park! They crap all over the sidewalks to where you have to take your dog for a "carry". Hope this doesn't happen to eagles. I don't believe they have any know predators. I also hope they don't become coyotes killing our pets.
