Photo Gallery: Antique Trucks Roll Out to Disckson-Murst Farm

The second of the farm's four annual events brought the "big boy's toys" out to the farmstead, and raised money for its preservation.

Sunday was Antique Truck Day at the Dickson-Murst Farm in Montgomery, and after days of rain, the weather cooperated nicely.

The Northwest Illinois chapter of the American Truck Historical Society brought their vintage cars and trucks to the farmstead, located on the village's west side. And as visitors milled about, trying out the big rigs for size, musicians from the Northern Illinois Bluegrass Association provided entertainment.

Sunday's event was free, but all food sales and donations went to preserving the century-plus-old farmstead, which was purchased by the Conservation Foundation in 2006. A dedicated group of volunteers, the Dickson-Murst Farm Partners, keep the farm in good condition, and exist solely on donations and proceeds from their four annual events - the only times the farm is open to the public.
