Park District to Host Veterans Day Luncheon Friday

The luncheon is free to veterans and will be catered by Upper Crust.

In honor of all community members who have served in the Armed Forces, the Fox Valley Park District is hosting a Veterans Day Luncheon from noon to 2:30 p.m. Friday, at the Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora.

The luncheon is free to veterans and will be catered by Upper Crust. Also, Honor Flight Chicago will share information on its program and the many benefits it provides veterans. Prize drawings and entertainment are included as well.

“This luncheon is a way to honor and salute veterans for the freedoms and opportunities they’ve provided us through their dedicated service,” said Laurie Hoffman, director of recreation, marketing and communications.

The luncheon fee for non-veterans is $7 per resident and $10 per non-resident. Registration by Nov. 5 is required to assure seating.

In addition, the Fox Valley Park District has proclaimed November as Veterans Appreciation Month and is providing veterans unlimited visits to the District’s fitness centers at Vaughan, Eola and Prisco free of charge.
