More Snow Headed Our Way

Wind chills may drop once more into the negatives.

By Natalie Stevens

Is it really only mid January?

More white stuff is headed Montgomery's way this weekend, along with chilly temperatures and the threat of ice jams.

According to the National Weather Service, the area should see between 2 - 4 inches of new snow on Saturday around 12 p.m.

The windchill is expected to be around -1 on Saturday, with wind gusts of up to 15mph predicted. The high is only 21 degrees. It gets a mite warmer on Sunday with temperatures expected to peak at 32.

The National Weather Service is also warning of ice jams, which happen when ice melts on the river and creates a blockage. This can lead to very quick rising water and flooding.

Those with homes along the Fox River and other low-lying areas should keep an extra eye out. Flooding has been reported along the Kankakee River.
