Moms Talk: Little Versions of Us?

Join our Moms Council of experts as they debate just how much of ourselves we should expect to see in our kids.

Each week in Moms Talk, our Moms Council of experts and smart mothers take your questions, give advice and share solutions.

Moms, dads, grandparents and the diverse families who make up our community will have a new resource for questions about local neighborhood schools, the best pediatricians, 24-hour pharmacies and the thousands of other issues that arise while raising children.

Here's this week's question:

When you look in your crystal ball, is your grown child just like you in 15 or 20 years, or the complete opposite? Are you purposely doing anything in your parenting that could lead your children in your footsteps, or away from them? For example, you went to a parochial school and turned out well, so you want the same for your children—or, having nuns as teachers was a nightmare, so never, never, never for your kids! How much "you" are you putting in your parental formula, or is the thought of another you enough to turn everything your parents did when raising you 180 degrees?
