It's a Kid's Heaven at Kids Heaven

There is a little place in downtown Montgomery, right off the main drag of Webster Street, that is filled with treasures—mostly of the plastic toy variety.

Walk into Kids Heaven at 109 N. Main St. and enter paradise—for kids that is, and teachers, daycare providers, parents and anyone else who is not a complete grinch. 

Kids Heaven is a toy store, a party store and a novelty store all in one. Owners Fred and Shirley Einsle man the store from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. 

The couple lives in Naperville and moved the business to Montgomery three years ago. They started the business about 20 years ago in Elmhurst. 

"It mainly started as a school santa shop," Shirley said. They sold small items in large quantities at a discount, and it grew into a retail store from there. The store got its name after one young boy said, "This is like being in heaven."

With aisles full of toys, stuffed animals, candy and other childhood delights, the store name is indeed accurate. 

Kids Heaven is the perfect place to fill party goody bags and Christmas stockings. It's also a great spot to pick up a few toys for children to use as incentives or rewards for good behavior. A kitty cat or butterfly pencil from their large selection of pencils with possibly over 100 designs is sure to make a kid smile. 

Children will enjoy trying out some of the fun novelty toys, and Shirley is happy to assist them. Toys ranging from infant plush to bouncy balls and squirt guns will please all ages.

Whether you stop into Kids Heaven for a mylar balloon, an ice cream bar or to pick up a quick birthday present and card, it'll take you back to the good old days, when a dimestore toy was cherished.
