Chamber Extends Fay's BBQ Offer for Thursday's Concert in the Park

The deadline for advance orders was Monday, but concertgoers (and anyone who likes barbecue) can come to Village Hall Thursday evening and order on the spot.

If you’re planning to go to Thursday’s Concert in the Park in Montgomery, but you’re worried that you missed your chance to get Fay’s Barbecue, well, don’t.

The Greater Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce is selling Fay’s meals before the 7:30 concert in Montgomery Park. Initially, the deadline to place your order was Monday, but chamber leaders have decided to offer drive-up orders as well.

If you swing by , at 200 N. River Street, between 5 and 7:30 p.m., you can buy a barbecue meal right then and there. You get a choice of two pork chops, half a chicken or a combination of the two, plus applesauce, baked beans, coleslaw, and a buttered roll for $12.

Of course, the main event that evening is a free show by local cover band Gallery, at , at the corner of River and Mill streets.

Gallery plays hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, and the show promises to be a fun way to close out Montgomery’s portion of the summer concert series. The three Concert in the Park shows in Montgomery were organized by the village and the Fox Valley Park District.

There are two more park concerts planned for Aurora’s McCullough Park: the American Legion Band will play on July 28, and the Saturday June Band on August 4. Both shows are free. Log onto www.foxvalleyparkdistrict.org for more information.
