Local Oswego Girl with a BIG Dream (for someone else)

I am reaching out in the community of Oswego for help and guidance to make my daughter’s dream of helping others come true. Her idea is to start an organization to do complete room makeovers- for free- for a child in need. — By Bree Hite

Watching God Work in Oswego

I have been a Christ follower for a few years now and God still confounds and inspires me regularly. It happens all the time with group I hang out.  We meet in what I have often heard around town as the “neon” church. You know our building. We are the church under the red neon cross on Wolf road over by Oswego East High School. We are a relatively new campus of Wheatland Salem Church but we have a long history of seeing God’s Spirit move in some really powerful ways. — By Rev. Bob Butler

Toys For A Cause Collection

Earlier this year, Troop Leaders of Daisy Troop #1443 put out a challenge to their girls. They were all asked to come up with ideas that they thought would be a great way to help others. The girls then voted for their favorite ones. The top three were chosen: Take money from the cookie proceeds and feed a needy family of six with food and baskets for Easter, volunteer at 'Feed My Starving Children', and collect new toys for children being treated at Lurie Childrens Hospital in Chicago.  — By Samantha Biskup

Karma isn't just for bad things

People talk about karma quite frequently when they have someone that did them wrong and hoping that sweet revenge would come upon that person.  We also talk about karma in the sense that it may affect our decisions as we may not choose to do something that is "wrong,"lest because of Karma, we can expect negative consequences in our life later.  Even the Bible talks about reaping what we sow.  The real question is why do we accept the context of Karma as being inherently bad? — By Barry Kolanowski

Anyone Can Dance!

Anyone can dance. When I say anyone, I mean anyone. There is no limitation on dance, only the limitation you put on yourself. “Dancing is the hidden language of the soul.”-Martha Graham. Martha did not say dancing is the hidden language of the body, no she said the soul and she is oh so right. I can’t tell you the number of times I have been lost, hurt, scared, nervous, anxious, timid, fearful, joyful, happy or excited and the simple act of dancing allowed me to escape into this emotion and come out thankful and healed. It is a natural therapy. — By Yorkville Performing Arts Center
