Summer Pops presented by Fox Valley Orchestra and Fox Valley Concert Band
On Sunday, June 22 at 3:00 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, the Fox Valley Orchestra and the Fox Valley Concert Band team up to present a rousing Summer Pops Concert. Under the direction of Dr. Colin Holman, the two groups present music that warms the heart and stirs emotions.
The Fox Valley Orchestra will perform Olympic Fanfare and Theme by John Williams, A Cole Porter Salute, Leroy Anderson's beloved Jazz Pizzicato and Blue Tango, selections from Marvin Hamlisch’s A Chorus Line, and The Big Country by Moross, among other selections. The Fox Valley Concert Band hopes to bring the house down with marches such as Fillmore’s Americans We, and Yankee Doodle by Morton Gould, plus other beautiful numbers including Elegy for a Young American by Presti and Broadway Show Stoppers.
Following the concert, the fun continues with the Fox Valley Orchestra’s Annual Gala. Just walk across the hall to the Paramount’s Grand Gallery where from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. the Gala celebrates the Fox Valley Orchestra’s 4th season. Enjoy live jazz and a gala benefit reception that helps sustain your local orchestra and celebrates a local champion of the arts. Stan Smith will receive the "Champion of the Arts" award for his amazing 43-year music career in the Fox Valley. After teaching in the Aurora Public schools, he launched the band program at Aurora’s Holy Angels School. Smith founded the Aurora Suzuki Violins and gave hundreds of children the opportunity to embrace music. The Fox Valley Orchestra salutes a true "Champion of the Arts." All proceeds from the Gala go to the Fox Valley Orchestra and its youth programs. Tickets are $50 and can be reserved online. Complimentary valet parking is available. There is also a raffle with cash prizes up to $10,000.

Don’t miss this wonderful afternoon of music on Sunday, June 22 at 3:00 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, when the Fox Valley Orchestra and the Fox Valley Concert Band present Summer Pops.
