Santa+Ice Cream=Salvation Army benefit


Santa will arrive early in Aurora this week to help raise funds and toys for the Salvation Army.

The Banana Split ice cream parlor, 820 Church Rd. in Aurora, will offer photos with Santa after 7 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday,  July 22-24.

Donors of new, unwrapped toys will receive a gift card for an ice cream treat.

A Salvation Army red kettle will be on hand to receive cash donations.

An announcement said special holiday treats and flavors will be offered.

Founded in 1981, the family-run parlor is a soft-serve ice cream store featuring chocolate, vanilla , strawberry, chocolate-vanilla twist and strawberry-vanilla twist.

Other products are shakes, malts, sundaes, cones, flurries, floats, smoothies, slushes, specialty Items and three sizes of banana splits.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
