Adopting from Secondhand Snoots Rescue

You can read our full adoption process on our website at www.secondhandsnoots.org -

Secondhand Snoots generally rescues dogs from high kill animal control facilities, places them into fosters homes where they work on socialization, basic manners and becoming great companions, we work on finding them great forever homes. Our adoption process includes an application, reference checks, a home visit and meet and greet with anybody who lives in the home and any other animals in the home. We have a minimum adoption, listed below, which is payable by cash, check, credit card or PayPal.

  • Dogs (1 year old and older) – $250.00
  • Puppies (9 months old and under) - $300.00
  • Cats & Kittens – $75.00 for one, $125.00 for two.
  • (Kittens 6 months of age and younger are recommended to be adopted in pairs or into a home with another young, playful cat or kitten.)
  • Senior Dogs and Cats (8 years old and older) - $150.00
  • Secondhand Snoots Rescue appreciates the service and sacrifice our first responders make for all of us. In appreciation we proudly offer a 25% discount on our regular adoption rate to all active and retired Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters, and Military. To receive the discounted adoption rate the adopter must present their employer issued identification card or other legal proof of employment or service.

All of our animals that are available for adoption have been micro-chipped, received all of their age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered (if over 6-months old and medically appropriate), dewormed, heartworm / FIV / FeLV - tested, and treated for any medical conditions or injuries that they present with.

All adoption donations directly benefit the animals at Secondhand Snoots Rescue, they help pay for medical expenses, spaying/neutering, and daily care. Adoption donations may be tax deductible as allowed by law, you will be given a receipt. Please consult with your tax professional for available deduction.
