The Dickson-Murst Farm’s buildings will again echo with moos, baas, oinks, and clucks as members of the Kendall 4-H clubs and the Newark FFA return with their animals and projects to the Farm to celebrate Spring at the Farm.  The popular event will take place Sunday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.    

Kendall County 4Hers will demonstrate the ancient art of soap-making, and provide make-and-take projects.    

Friends from the Northern Illinois Bluegrass Association will have lively music throughout the buildings.   In addition, antique tractors will be present, as well as vintage farm implements. 

Our famous free Hayrides pulled by vintage tractors and a team of draft horses will also be offered.              

The Partners Information Booth will have detailed information for the June 10th Antique Truck show, Day at the Farm on August 19^th and the Bluegrass Jam on September 16^th.   

The Conservation Foundation, owner of the site and co-host of the event will be on hand with their repurposed barrels, designed to divert rain water from spreading pollution to storing it for use in your yard and garden.   Spring at the Farm is a FREE event, focused on farm kids and agriculture in our lives. 

Activities begin at 10 a.m. and last until 3 p.m.  The event will take place- rain or shine.  There is plenty of room inside the Farm buildings to see the activities. Watch for parking instructions if the conditions are wet.    There is always good, affordable food available at the Partner’s Country Kitchen.

Activities sponsored by the Dickson-Murst Partners are used to generate funds to preserve the buildings at the Farm and to aid in educating the public about the importance of agriculture in our past and present.    Dickson-Murst Farm is at 2550 Dickson Road on the west side of Montgomery.  It is one mile east of Rt. 47, 2 miles west of Orchard Rd, between Rt. 30 and Galena/Chicago Road.
