Drusilla is a female Border Collie mix born April 15, 2012. Drusilla very bravely made the trip from a kill shelter in southern Indiana to Help Save Pets in Oswego, where she's safe and has a chance at a new home. Curtis is a 3 year old male Terrier mix. This poor guy has been with us a while and in order to get him a home, his adoption donation is only $29. Curtis was rescued from a pound in Tennessee which euthanizes animals after a certain amount of time. He’s now safe with us and looking for a new home. Sophie and Superman are two cats who came into Kendall County Animal Control needing some veterinary attention. Sophie had surgery on her left back leg and had to have her right eye removed due to injuries sustained in a car accident. She is ready for a new home, but she sometimes startles easily because her peripheral vision is impaired so she doesn't notice others approaching her. She's about a year old and has been spayed. Before you ask, yes, this week’s pet is named after the Muppet on Sesame Street, according to Kendall County Animal Control Warden Anna Payton. But Abby Cadabby has a certain magic all her own. She’s a six-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix, and has been at the Kendall County shelter in Yorkville since the end of May, when her owner brought her in. Abby is sweet and laid-back, Payton said, and is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her shots. She’s also a pretty big dog – she weighs about 67 pounds, and has lost seven since coming to the shelter and being placed on a diet. She could stand to …

Time for a cuteness overload. Meet Dash (the grey-and-white one on the left) and Mirage (the black-and-white one on the right). They’re both males, both two months old, and were both strays – they’ve been at the Kendall County Animal Shelter since they were five weeks old. Both are neutered and microchipped, and though they don’t necessarily have to be adopted together, according to Warden Anna Payton, they’re close, and get along well with each other. Lil' Mama is a 1- to 2-year-old pit bull mix available for adoption through Tay's Strays in Yorkville. She has been spayed; all her shots are up-dated, and she is crate-trained. She weighs about 45 pounds. "She is very playful and goofy," her foster parent, Jayme Slown, said. "She does great with other dogs and would even love to have a doggie playmate in her new home. Welcome back to Adopt Me. Once a week, we’ll spotlight a dog or a cat looking for a new home. This week, we want you to meet Fenway. He’s seven years old, he’s a domestic shorthair, and he’s been at the Kendall County Animal Control shelter since April 28. Vaughn is a male Terrier and something else mix, maybe Dachshund, born August 26, 2011. He was rescued from a shelter in Southern Indiana where his previous owners just didn’t want him any more. Check out that little tail-wag Max has when he chases the ball in the video. At 18 months, he's still a bit of a puppy, but he's been neutered, is up-to-date on all his shots, micro-chipped and house-broken. He is being fostered through Angels on Wheels Animal Rescue with a family in Sandwich that has another dog. The pair visit Central Bark in Oswego once or twice a week. Like all the cats at the Kendall County Animal Control shelter in Yorkville, Babe was a stray, but she’s very friendly, and loves any and all attention, according to Assistant Warden Laura Pawson. Babe has been at the shelter since April 12, and she’s looking for a forever home. Meet Skully, a 2-year old Wirehaired Terrier mix rescued from a shelter in Indiana where animals are put down if not adopted in time. Like all animals available for adoption Oswego Animal Hospital, Skully has been spayed, micro-chipped and has received rabies vaccine, first distemper vaccine, fecal test, first worming, heartworm test and canine bordetella. Bianca knows how to sit - and will sometimes sit in advance of a treat being offered. She also loves tug-of-war and the occaisional chomp on the leash while walking. It’s a two-for-one special in Adopt Me this week. Champ is a 6-year-old pitbull/terrier mix, and his friend Abby is a 10-year-old yellow lab. They have known each other all their lives, according to Kendall County Animal Control Kennel Assistant Cass Gilbert, and are hoping to be adopted together. The two dogs were released by their owner on March 30. They’re very friendly, and they love each other, so Animal Control staff is hoping they won’t have to break them up.
